Or rather, this issue is about learning the secrets of being interesting. Even calling it a secret is a little too much. In today's world of overwhelming information overload, it's about paying attention to certain things that some people do to make themselves more interesting than others. We can all do better in life with a little dose of this knowledge. So let's dig in! | 7 Things the Most Interesting People All Have in Common We’re all terrible at realizing when we bore others because, well, we all think we’re just fascinating. | 7 Questions Interesting People Always Ask in Conversations Replace those typical (and boring, I may add) questions like 'What do you do for a living?' with these refreshing questions that lead to great conversations. | How to speak so that people want to listen | Julian Treasure | Proudly Brought to You I hope you have enjoyed this issue of my InTouch newsletter. As that time he was a specialist enlisted and trained as a fitness instructor. I was his superior officer and we worked together in managing and monitoring the army’s overall fitness data and making plans and policies. He struck me even then as a dedicated person, who took his full time national service seriously. He worked hard to ensure that our data was accurate and reliable and fit its purposes.
After he left his army service where he had done very well, he branched out into the insurance industry. I was certain he would not only do well but excel in his chosen field at Prudential. We kept in touch all through the years and he even recommended me some good insurance products. His service was excellent, he treat everyone as a special friend not just a customer. He even assisted his army colleagues to invest week and we all found him to be a capable and reliable person.
As an individual, Kenneth has very good inter-personal skills and EQ, but he is genuinely a nice person and would contact us from time to time even if we were not involved in any business deals with him. He has a food reputation from all his army friends even after leaving service more than 21 years ago. I wish him the best and I know he will serve his clients and friends well.
| | | Russell Ng, CEO AIMS APAC REIT Kenneth has been my personal financial adviser for close to a decade and has always provided professional, clear and timely advice for my family. An inspirational forward thinking leader and trusted adviser. I look forward to working with Kenneth for many more years to come | | | Gladys Soon, Financial Consultant During the short 4 months working with Kenneth, he has been an amazing mentor. Given the tough industry, Kenneth had played an integral role in getting me to find my footing. With his guidance, I managed to place a much more firm footing in here as compared to my other peers.
Kenneth has always made himself available and has taken great interest in my trajectory into this industry. Under Kenneth's mentorship, I have seen growth in myself, even beyond my professional capabilities. His ardent support has me feel that it was the best decision to join Opulence to have the opportunity to be mentored by Kenneth. | | | Nick Teo, Business Development Director A mentor is someone who has patience, foresight and magnanimity. Kenneth has all of those traits and more! He's mentored so many, and guided many more to success. And most of all, he is a man of great Faith and great Love. | | | Eddie Chin, HR Business Partner, CAG I’ve known Kenneth since my army days, so that works out to more than 20 years… I must say since those days, Kenneth has been a natural mentor in caring for and taking care of his course mates (me included!). Armed with a positive and never-say-die attitude, he regularly galvanizes every one of us fellow trainees to “endure and excel” throughout the few months of training together. From the tough times we faced together, you could clearly tell that Kenneth was someone you could depend on, in good or bad times… 😊
I recall Kenneth was already clear at that young age (where most guys are probably trying to “act cool”), that he wanted to go into the financial planning line to help relatives and friends better plan for their needs at various stages of life. We continued keeping in touch after we were posted to different camps in Singapore, and shortly after we turned operationally ready he got his financial planner licence with Prudential! Without a doubt, I took up my first life policy with him after starting work myself. Fast forward 20 years, and Kenneth continues to conscientiously plan for me and my family’s needs in terms of insurance coverage. I mean it when I say “needs”, coz Kenneth never pushes for me to take on more than I should or could.
Now that he’s leading his own team, he remains down to earth and continues to keep tab on me and my family’s well-being, as a good friend and trusted financial advisor. | | | Xaye Lee, Teacher I know Kenneth in 2001 when I bought my very First insurance from him. Being new to the workforce, I am overwhelmed with the different products in the market. He patiently explains everything in layman's term to aid my understanding. Since then, I will only go to him for my every insurance needs.
In 2001.. he is a black haired young man full of zest and passion. Now, he is already a NOT so young white haired uncle! But the Zest and passion remains!
Kenneth is just like a "life buoy"- coming to my "rescue" at the darkest and lowest moments in my life..
Thank you Kenneth! For always being so willing to going beyond your call of duty to help! | | | | |
