But hold that thought for a moment - it's only good news if one is financially prepared to survive such a critical challenge.

Here's some insightful and interesting statistics about cancer survivers, driving home one point - we can even be wrong about being prepared.

Priscilla Chew, Senior Financial Consultant

"A leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of blame and a little less than his share of credit." Kenneth lives by this principle more than many others. I first met Kenneth, a little more than 3 years back. He came across as a straightforward and focused director. At that moment, I knew I have much more to learn from him. Being in the business for over 20 years, he has met many different kinds of individuals. He has a unique communication style, knowing that words transform emotions and lead to breakthroughs. His decisiveness carries the team, that does not mean he makes easy decisions. He makes what's right even in tough times. If one have ever engaged in a conversation with Kenneth, one must have sensed quickly his confidence and clear visions. He is fully focused on helping the team achieve their personal goals, even if it means sacrificing his time. Kenneth is a yes man to his mentees, not because he says yes to everything, but because he couldn't turn a blind eye to his team. Being a good speaker with his language fluency helped me discover that public speaking is a skill I enjoyed very much, and he is an example to follow. In my almost 3 years with Kenneth, I have enjoyed learning from him as my mentor, upgrading my skills and putting my strengths to use. He listens before he speaks, which many of us would have wanted from a leader. He has played a big role and attribution to my achievements and helped me vision who I want to be, who I could be and discovering my identity. In today's fast paced market, Kenneth is constantly looking for innovative ideas and finding the X factor. It was never a dull moment to learn new things from him. If you are looking for a leader that is no-nonsense, honest and focused on helping you achieve your goals, walk up to Kenneth and start the conversation.

Lee Chun Hian, Financial Services Manager

There are two types of leaders in financial services; one that commands and expects results, the other who actually walks the talk, leading by example. And Kenneth is the latter. Three years of working alongside him, we have both experienced growth in our teams and career, and a large part of my success was due to his empowerment of the business. Kenneth always come up with new innovative ideas in this ever-changing industry of financial services, and he is someone who is selfless in his coaching and sharing with younger financial consultants. When Kenneth reaches out, it's probably because sees the potential, and I am confident that under his tutelage, new breakthroughs will be reached.

Wilson Low, Enterprise Business Manager

In 2018, I was looking for a Sales Opportunity in my IT industry. However, my Prudential Financial Consultant shared with me about his work and introduced me to his Team Lead, Kenneth. For a person like me who was already 50yo then, without any experience in the Sales and Financial Industries, it was not easy for me to switch and become a FC but Kenneth was a very patient and knowledgeable Mentor. He was able to teach and abundantly share his knowledge and experience with all his new FCs, and I am proud to be in his Multi Million Dollar Agency Team. I would recommend Kenneth to those who are looking for a good Financial Mentor to achieve your career goal as a Financial Consultant.

Jesslyn Wong, Manager

Kenneth has been our financial planner since 2005, when we bought our first endowment policy for our newborn. Since then, we have bought multiple policies from Life, Mortgage, Investment to Hospitalization. Kenneth is knowledgeable and provided us with sound recommendation on the policies that suit our needs and budget at the different stages of our lives. He is like our go-to-man for all our insurance and coverage needs.

Eddie Chin, HR Business Partner, CAG

I’ve known Kenneth since my army days, so that works out to more than 20 years… I must say since those days, Kenneth has been a natural mentor in caring for and taking care of his course mates (me included!). Armed with a positive and never-say-die attitude, he regularly galvanizes every one of us fellow trainees to “endure and excel” throughout the few months of training together. From the tough times we faced together, you could clearly tell that Kenneth was someone you could depend on, in good or bad times… 😊 I recall Kenneth was already clear at that young age (where most guys are probably trying to “act cool”), that he wanted to go into the financial planning line to help relatives and friends better plan for their needs at various stages of life. We continued keeping in touch after we were posted to different camps in Singapore, and shortly after we turned operationally ready he got his financial planner licence with Prudential! Without a doubt, I took up my first life policy with him after starting work myself. Fast forward 20 years, and Kenneth continues to conscientiously plan for me and my family’s needs in terms of insurance coverage. I mean it when I say “needs”, coz Kenneth never pushes for me to take on more than I should or could. Now that he’s leading his own team, he remains down to earth and continues to keep tab on me and my family’s well-being, as a good friend and trusted financial advisor.
